Calibre Search is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer for a Building Services Contractor who is keen to strengthen their workforce from their office in Stockport. Coming from a strong contractor background and already possessing an abundance of experience in the Building Services project management sector, particularly as a mechanical project engineer, you will join a forward thinking and developing team. You will be a significant figure in pulling all elements together in order to complete a successful project, this will include;
- Taking financial control of each project with regular reports to management throughout the life cycle
- Maintain client relationships throughout the process, from initial concept design and feasibility to completion.
- Manage external sub contractors and design team throughout the project
- Keeping a keen eye on H&S and adhering to construction regulations
- Review design drawings throughout the process
The ideal candidate will have some experience of Healthcare and Clean Room engineering projects. Experience of working on projects between £500K and £5M is the kind of experience that my client is looking for with successful delivery for each project relating to timing and costs. Most of the work would be based out of Stockport, however there may be the occasional trip outside of the region, particularly in this instance to Derby as they have recently acquired a major project in this area. You will be working on a Healthcare project which is 80% Modular build and 20% traditional.
You will hold an equivalent ONC/HNC qualification in Building Services or another relevant engineering topic. A Prince 2 certification or equivalent project management qualification would be particularly desirable although not essential. It is essential that you have experience in running projects and are comfortable in this pressurised environment.
Demonstrating engineering experience and a good understanding of the current health and safety standards/legislation will stand you in good stead for this opportunity, as well as a sound grounding in project management. Demonstrating leadership capabilities and excellent communication skills within a team in previous roles is required.
