Building Services Mechanical Principal/Associate Director
Salary: DOE
Ref: 16486

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing Building Services consultants in Manchester city centre who are very much going places. They are keen for an Building Services Mechanical Principal/Associate Director to join them on a journey which started a couple of years ago and shows no sign that it will it will cease. The firm have been operational for more than 20 years, but under relatively speaking fairly new ownership and direction they are now going through a period of significant investment and expansion which saw them set up in Manchester over 12 months ago.

The Manchester office has since grown to a team of 10 and they need a Mechanical Project Leader to join the engineering team in the mould of an Building Services Mechanical Principal/Associate. Projects are being won with more frequency by both new clients and old. These projects are statements by their owners which makes them both challenging and interesting to be part of. Current projects include the Flagship site in Stockport for Mercedes Benz, work for BAE, various Student Accommodation and also works on Data Centres and critical infrastructure nationwide. However, they are not looking to stop there, they are looking to set up offices in more locations throughout the UK and replicate the success that the Manchester office has seen in a small space of time and work is already being won in these other areas. The business plan has been backed by Goldman Sachs as part of a referral only scheme designed to help business growth, sharing their vision with a significant management and investment company demonstrates their confidence and commitment to the project.

Your role as an Associate Director will include; leading projects and delegating tasks to engineers, someone who is keen to be involved in the engineering side and is very strong technically. A desire to actively develop a team of engineers who will work alongside you and you will have fully responsibility for. Ideally you will have gained the vast amount of your experience in the local market and have a good network within the area of clients and contacts, can project manage large schemes and has a flare for Business Development.

You would need to be a people person, able to be a line manager which includes handling appraisals but on a more day-to-day level, motivating the team, being a leader, offering guidance and delegating where required. In addition, discussing fee proposals, technical delivery of projects and putting together bids experience is also required. It is essential that you have reached the level of Chartered status with CIBSE or another recognised engineering board. Ideally you will be degree qualified, however we are accepting applications from ONC/HNC qualified engineers also.
