Description

Highway Engineer needed in Darlington. You will be responsible for the maintenance of the motorway and trunk route carriageway of the North West and various ASC's around the country.

Job Description Main duties of the role:

* Highway Maintenance, Patching, VRS, Signing, Lining schemes
* Signing, Lining, Lighting, Drainage Renewals
* Project Delivery and Management of engineers technicians, instigate, develop and maintain a delivery culture
* Escalation of issues as they arise
* Monthly reporting on progress of budget, programme, issues arising and client relations
* Mentoring of engineers and graduate engineers to ensure that they are developing the necessary skills to deliver the current and emerging technical and project management needs and to ensure that training needs are identified and reported on to support their career aspirations and the identified business requirements
* Ensuring compliance of all activities undertaken with the Group's IMS system

Key Responsibilities:

* Delivery of assigned project elements of a projects to programme, budget and quality
* Technical quality of the project elements assigned
* Delivering the Clients requirements
Candidate Specification For this role you will need to be:
* Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (or equivalent) BEng / BSc Civil Engineering (or related subject or equivalent)
* MEng / MSc Civil Engineering (or related subject) would be desirable

Your experience should cover most of these areas:

* Proven experience in the highways engineering sector. Ideally MAC Experience
* Understanding of DMRB / SHW / RWSC
* Familiar with AASHTO
* Knowledge of the use of BIM to coordinate design inputs
* (Desirable) Knowledge of Highways Agency PCF products
* (Desirable) Developing business development and marketing skills
* (Desirable / Training offered) Writing winning proposals
