Description

A unique Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist opportunity has come available for one of the South West's most well-respected bespoke engineering geology/geotechnical consultancies. You will have the chance to work on a range of small to large scale infrastructure, transportation, commercial development and mining schemes.

The role is a more intermediate role that offers Geotechnical / Engineering Geology project delivery, in particular the delivery of technical geotechnical interpretive reporting, detailed design and slope stability. It will also be expected you are competent in solving a variation of geotechnical problems within mining but not essential.

As a Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist, your responsibilities will be including; designing & management of ground investigations, delivery of technical geotechnical reports, slope stability, detailed rock face inspections including the design of rock slope stabilisation and strengthening works and preparation of detailed specifications, bill of quantities and drawings. Geotechnical design will also be a big part of this role.

To progress as a Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist, you must demonstrate:

  • MEng degree in Civil Engineering or a degree in Engineering Geology or Geology with a post graduate qualification in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Progressing with chartership
  • All-round technical knowledge of Geotechnical engineering.
  • Show experience of participation in the design and project management of major mining, building and/or infrastructure projects up to and including construction stage.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a large multi-disciplinary team
  • Use of computer software for the analysis of geotechnical problems, preferably to include the use of Finite Element or other numerical methods
