I am currently working on a behalf of a reputable Chiller/Boiler hire company who are on the look out for an Logistics Manager to work in there Andover depot.
As Logistics Manager you will provide and manage a safe, efficient, reliable and cost effective delivery and collection service for all transactional jobs. You will manage a team of Contract Supervisors to ensure a high standard of customer satisfaction at all times.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organise and manage all transactional jobs responsible for routing of deliveries and collections to meet the requirements of the business and our customers
  • Book and schedule transport requirements for all jobs, including Boiler and Chiller haulage requirements of the Operations Contract Manager
  • Collate and communicate working with Operations Contract Manager Engineering plan
  • Ensure the best price is identified on all transportation requirements utilising full supplier portfolio to maximise profit
  • Raise, Record and log all transportation purchase orders with responsibility for maximising profitability
  • Responsible for ensuring all contract paperwork is completed daily with maximum accuracy achieved through a team of Contract Supervisors
  • Support and Coach the Operations Supervisor to ensure all admin checks are completed
  • Work closely with relevant Sales Managers to ensure customer expectation is managed taking into account all aspects to meet customer demand where possible
  • Promote teamwork between colleagues across all depots, to ensure the delivery of an effective transport service
  • Be pro-active in developing operational improvements, focusing on cost reductions and customer satisfaction, and embrace any changes that are implemented with a positive attitude
  • Meet and exceed the requirements of the companies transport KPI Matrix constantly
  • Manage performance and development needs of the Operations desk on a regular basis
  • Work within agreed company policies & processes being a key leader in ensuring these are followed or escalated if required
  • Ensure compliance with all systems, procedures and processes
  • Be a key driver in serious about safety by leading from the front
  • Support the Operations Contract Manager when necessary covering them during any absence
  • Carry out any other duties as required

Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Transport/Logistics experience in a fast paced environment
  • Experience leading a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Driving licence essential
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Previous experience of managing budgets or cost control
  • Up to date knowledge of health and safety regulations within a transport environment
  • Knowledge of the tool and plant industry

In return you can expect a salary of up to £35,000 + Pension, 25 days holiday etc.
