Building Maintenance vacancy on a static site in Central Manchester for a Mechanical Engineer.

This vacancy has come up due the company looking for permanent staff having previously subcontracted the work out. They are looking for a person with vast experience in the Building Services and Mechanical sectors who perhaps doesn't want to be working extensive amounts of hours. The position involves a short working week of 35 hours and the static site is situated in central Manchester and very close to all main public transport links. This position would also be perfect for someone with a family life who would like to be working from the hours of 8:45 - 4:30.

This role requires you to work as part of a team close knit team of multi-skilled HVAC, Chiller, Air-Con & Building Services technicians, carrying out pre planned maintenance and reactive maintenance across the site. You can expect to be working on Split AC, VRV systems, Fan Coil Units, Air Handling Units, Pipe work and Plumbing.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance of commercial heating and cooling equipment.
  • Communicate with management regarding status of work orders.
  • Inspect HVAC systems and their components (e.g. Air conditioning systems, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) to evaluate condition, identify necessary repairs and recommend preventive maintenance.
  • Installation of air-conditioning equipment, heating and ventilation systems.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops and training as required.
  • As part of the role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota from time-to-time.

Knowledge Skills & Experience

  • Background in service and installation of HVAC equipment
  • Minimum 5 years post apprenticeship experience preferable.
  • Valid/clean drivers' licence.
  • Knowledge and experience in the maintenance and repair of Split AC, VRV systems, Fan Coil Units, Air Handling Units.
