A great opportunity for a developing Civil Engineer has arisen with a well-respected Multi-Disciplinary consultancy who are working on several high profiles Rail Schemes in the UK. As part of the Civil Design team you will have the opportunity to work with Senior Engineers, Graduates and Technicians in the delivery of projects, ensuring the needs of the client and the business are met.

As a Civil Engineer you will ideally be working towards CEng or IEng status and have a good overall grounding in Design/Construction Principles & Standards as well as prior experience working within a rail project environment and awareness of GRIP stages and NR procedures.
You will also be required to manage projects. Further attributes of these roles will entail: -

  • Lead design projects as directed, ensuring client commitments are met.
  • Undertake the duties of designer as highlighted in CDM legislation.
  • Act as designer and checker on projects as directed.
  • Deliver tasks to the required quality, time and budget.
  • Assist in marketing and work winning.

Candidate Description
Candidates will be experienced and have a personal interest in Rail Civil Engineering which will be utilised in a broad range of projects.

  • Experience in the use of Eurocodes.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution.
  • Experience of designing and checking civil engineering deliverables.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and CDM regulations.
  • Experience of civil engineering design principles and standards.
  • Experience of construction principles and standards.
  • Knowledge of working with contractors in a design and build environment.
  • Ideally experienced within the rail sector and with knowledge of Network Rail procedures and standards.
  • Experience in the use of computer analysis programs.
  • Relevant degree, class 2:2 or above.
