An experienced Senior Ecologist is required to help with the delivery of projects including large worldwide recognised infrastructure, power and energy projects along with and large scale residential / commercial properties for UK's leading developers. You will be based in a rural office situated in Cheshire, helping to project manage medium to large scale projects. This role also offers progression to Associate for the right candidate.

Job Description

As a Senior Ecologist, you will have the to lead / manage projects on a technical, commercial and financial basis whilst helping to grow the team in Cheshire. This will be an office/remote working role with limited site work.

Duties as a Senior Ecologist will principally involve project management covering all aspects of preliminary ecological appraisal, targeted protected species surveys, EIA, ecological clerk of works and the associated technical report writing.

To progress as a Senior Ecologist, you will need to have,

  • Relevant degree in ecology or directly related subject
  • Relevant consultancy experience with a strong focus on preliminary ecological assessments, Phase 1 ecological surveys, EIA and planning support.
  • Excellent understanding of UK nature conservation legislation, including environmental impact assessments and planning guidance.
  • Excellent report writing and project management skills.
  • Proven experience of working in a team delivering projects on-time and to tight deadlines.
