If you are a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with extensive detailed design experience with a real love for complex and number crunching designs, then keep reading.

I have a unique Senior Geotechnical Engineering role here working for an independent bespoke geotechnical design consultancy to work on a wide range of complex geotechnical design across a range of sectors for local/large scale contractors including lots of deep basements, major buildings, slopes and all types of structures for rail & highways.

You will be sat within a specialist Geotechnical team helping to deliver complex geotechnical design projects within the UK mainly for contractors. Your role as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer will solely focus around design with added responsibility of mentoring/managing junior engineers and managing clients and contracts.

Senior Geotechnical Engineer design capabilities should surround the likes of piles, retaining walls, deep basement/excavations, shallow and deep foundations, earthworks, soil nailing, ground anchors and slopes etc. The use of most industry software modelling programs including numerical and finite element is expected.

Due to the nature of the business, share options will be made available for the right candidate within the future.
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • 1st degree in Civil Engineering with a relative MSc in Geotechnics or Soil Mechanics.
  • Chartered with ICE.
  • Demonstrable experience of geotechnical design together with a familiarity of design submission documentation. This includes a demonstrable understanding of the underlying principles and a knowledge of Eurocode 7
  • Ability to use a range of geotechnical software for the design of civil engineering projects including the following: deep and shallow foundations (including pile group analysis); embedded and gravity retaining walls; earthworks/slope stability; reinforced earthworks etc.
  • Full UK driving licence
