A Tier one consultancy is looking for a Drainage Engineer with Highways Experience to join their large, established office. You will be given the opportunity to work on National Highways and Public Realm schemes alongside major multi-million pound projects such as HS2. This role is a national role and you can work Manchester, Warrington, Birmingham, Guildford, London, Cambridge.
They are looking for Drainage Engineers with experience from 3 years to 10+ and can accommodate Senior & Principal Engineers if you have achieved chartership and you have a proven record of leading drainage schemes.
You must be experienced in the use of MicroDrainage and CAD and it will hugely benefit you to have experience of Civils 3D.
Drainage Engineer Essential Experience:
- Substantial drainage design experience gained with highways, railways and major infrastructure schemes throughout the UK.
- Strong knowledge of DMRB, Network Rail and Design & Construction Guidance for Sewers Offered for Adoption standards for drainage design.
- Expertise in software design methods such as MicroDrainage, AutoCAD and Civils3D including integration with BIM models.
- Technically competent in fundamental hydraulic design principles and ability to apply manual calculation methods where software methods are not available.
- Understanding of flood modelling of overland flow and its application in highways projects.
- Line management and performance management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a client facing position.
Drainage Engineer Responsibilities- Drainage design and modelling using a variety of software and manual calculation methods
- Performing and managing required activities associated with drainage design (major highways, rail and infrastructure projects) in line with client and Arcadis specifications and design standards
- Project management and design solutions associated with project bidding
- Project duties will include preparation of design solutions at various stages of a project; preparation of drawings / BIM models, reports, specifications and estimates; document management; attendance at meetings and checking the work of other team members to ensure accuracy
- Project management duties will include co-ordination of a wide range of discipline inputs; monitoring and protecting our client relationships; planning and programming; commercial management and presenting projects for audit
- Maintaining on-going communication with relevant Team Leaders / Senior Managers and clients when required to ensure effective communications on matters relevant to the project
- Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design
Qualifications:- Civil Engineering degree
- Chartered status or close to achieving chartered status with the ICE or equivalent.
