How does joining an offsite building manufacturer sound?

They have a new factory on the outskirts of Sheffield centre, hybrid working and a culture of learning - you won't hear "because we've always done it like this" uttered here!

They are looking for someone who is comfortable creating models for and coordinating the mechanical and electrical systems for a mixture of buildings, not just houses, that are being built on a modular basis.

This means that the services can't just fit in the space; as your drawings will be used as the basis for manufacture you may well find that you need to up your game!

Don't worry, if you are up for the challenge, they will support you with that and help you to adapt what you already know and work to a greater level of accuracy.

Being based in the factory will also bring you that much closer to the sharp end, the models you create will no longer be abstract things existing only on a screen, but actual buildings taking shape under the same roof before being taken to site.

This isn't a role for you if you are just starting your BIM career or seeking to move in to services from a different discipline as you may have guessed from the description.

While you don't need to be technically qualified, it certainly won't do any harm. The key thing is that you can demonstrate several years experience working with Revit on building services schemes and the background to help you grow in to this exciting role.

There is flexibility with salary depending upon what you can bring to the table, 23 days holiday plus your birthday off, a pension scheme and other benefits being considered as the organisation grows.
