I am currently recruiting for an Assistant Transport Planner with at least one year's post graduate experience. This role is quite unique, you will be working directly with the Principal Transport Planner on projects across England and Wales.
You will have a huge focus on Active Travel Schemes with Local Authorities across England & Wales including councils on your doorstep such as Salford and Blackburn. In this role you will gain experience of Transport Planning as a whole, offering Transport Assessments, Junction Modelling using Junctions 8 & 9, Development Plans and business case appraisals.
Whilst working with the Principal Engineer as a team of two, you will also be regularly be working with other teams across the UK. Giving you a breadth of knowledge to call upon. You will need to be in the consultancy's office regularly, but you will be given all the equipment you need to effectively work from home.
Assistant Transport Planner Requirements- Delivery of Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plans;
- Delivery of feasibility studies;
- Assisting in the delivery of transport scheme business cases;
- Assisting in the delivery of the Value for Money assessments and economic appraisals;
- Undertaking active travel appraisals;
- Development of traffic models and analysis;
- Analyse, write and present results and reports;
- Attend meetings with clients and other stakeholders;
- Work as part of a team to develop solutions;
- Support the Transport Planning Team by taking leadership and responsibility for the delivery of its tasks and projects; and
- Continue to develop your professional skills as you progress your career.
Qualifications & Experience:- Degree or equivalent in Geography, Planning or related subject (Masters' Degree in Transport Planning desirable)
- Working towards or chartered with a relevant professional body
- Delivery focussed
- Ability to work independently and in the team
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
- Enthusiasm to be part of growing the business
