Senior Highways Egnineer

I am currently looking for a Senior Highways Engineer to undertake an outside IR35 contract in Greater Manchester. You will be working directly with a Local Authority on a number of Active Travel Projects, Junction Improvements, Road Alignments and other highway schemes.

Experience of working with a Local Authority is essential when applying for this contract. Ideally you will be a chartered engineer but if your experience is strong enough it isn't essential.

You will be required to attend the Council offices two days a week.

Specific objectives include:

• Providing a high-level technical service;
• Providing support, training and guidance to other staff;
• Developing and retaining specialist knowledge in certain areas;
• Reporting to the highway's director;
• Liaising with other discipline team leaders to ensure technical integration; and
• Financial and commercial management.
• Experience of working in a highway design office is essential, typically with at least 10 years' practical design experience.

• Self-motivated and enthusiastic;
• Capable of operating with minimal supervision/mentoring junior members of staff; and
• Seeking increasing level of responsibility.
