Finding qualified HVAC engineers is one of the hardest parts of running an FM or M&E business right now. Engineers with F-gas certification and commercial experience are in short supply nationally, and the ones worth hiring are rarely on job boards.
We recruit HVAC, air conditioning, refrigeration and commercial gas engineers for FM contractors, M&E businesses and building services companies across the UK. Permanent and contract. Field engineers through to supervisors and contracts managers.
Our FM database has been built over 20 years. Most of the engineers on it are not actively looking. They move when the right role comes up, which means we can reach people a job advert never will.
What HVAC Engineers Expect from a Role
Our 2026 FM Pulse survey of over 300 engineers found that the total package matters as much as basic salary. Door-to-door travel pay and overtime structure can be worth £5,000 to £7,000 a year to an engineer, and provision varies widely across the sector. Over 80% of refrigeration engineers receive door-to-door pay. Among electricians, it's 20%.
We share this data with clients before a search begins, so the package on offer matches market expectations. Roles priced against the market fill faster and stay filled.
