Role - Senior/Principal Level Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)
Location - South Bristol (Hybrid Flexibility - Fridays WFH)
Salary - Up to £60k (Negotiable)
Are you an experienced Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer ready to step into a leadership role with long-term progression prospects?
A well-established, multidisciplinary building services consultancy is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their friendly and growing team of 15. With a strong pipeline of repeat work across healthcare, education, public sector, finance, retail, commercial, industrial and community projects, they're seeking someone ready to deliver projects from inception to post-occupancy with a focus on low carbon design solutions.
This is not just a technical role - they need someone confident, personable, and presentable, who can lead from the front, represent the company with clients, mentor junior staff, and ensure seamless project delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
Taking full ownership of projects from brief through design, site monitoring, and handover.
Producing detailed mechanical designs (ventilation, heating, cooling, domestic water, gas - ideally steam & medical gas too).
Client and contractor liaison - leading meetings and maintaining relationships.
Site visits, surveys, and feasibility studies.
Mentoring apprentices and junior engineers.
Optional: Involvement in project financials, contract administration, and principal designer duties.
What You'll Need
CEng or IEng status (or working towards).
Proven experience in mechanical building services design (Revit/AutoCAD knowledge a plus - training available).
Experience with healthcare design is desirable (familiarity with HTMs & HBNs).
Full UK driving license (essential for site visits).
A collaborative mindset, solid communication skills, and professional presentation.
