We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Geo‑Environmental Engineer to lead remediation works on a highly contaminated site. This contract role will start in September for a minimum of twelve weeks, with strong potential for extension depending on project progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of site remediation, including designing and implementing remedial strategies from desktop studies through to validation.
  • Oversee intrusive investigation and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Conduct mining investigations, assess shallow mine workings, and design mitigation/stabilisation measures.
  • Run the site independently, coordinating contractors and subcontractors, and providing effective on‑site decision‑making.
  • Supervise earthworks, monitoring quality and materials, providing technical guidance through to project handover.

Senior Geo Environmental Engineer Candidate Profile

  • Senior Geo‑Environmental Engineer with extensive experience in remediation projects.
  • Proven track record of managing complex contaminated‑land sites, ideally with brownfield redevelopment contexts.
  • Hands‑on experience with shallow mine workings, mine‑entry risk assessments, and ground stabilisation methodologies.
  • Self‑starter capable of independently running a site, liaising with project stakeholders and ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality.
  • Sound technical knowledge of both desktop and intrusive assessments, combined with strong leadership and problem‑solving skills.

Why Join As A Senior Geo‑Environmental Engineer?

  • Work with a top-tier geo‑environmental consultancy renowned for its turnkey solutions, balancing desktop assessments, remediation strategy design, and turnkey delivery.
