Role: 2D AutoCAD Technician

Location: Birmingham (1 day in office a week)

Salary: £30k - £42k (Flexible)

A well-established multidisciplinary consultancy is looking for a talented CAD Technician to join their MEP Building Services team in Birmingham.

The Role

As a CAD Technician, you'll support MEP engineers by producing detailed service drawings for a broad portfolio of building services projects. These include:

  • Higher education and residential accommodation

  • Commercial office schemes

  • Public sector and blue-light facilities

You'll be working predominantly in 2D AutoCAD, with a gradual shift toward 3D using Revit as the team evolves. You'll contribute at all stages of the design process and work closely with engineers and other professionals across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and clear CAD drawings to support engineering designs

  • Collaborate with engineers across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services

  • Support project delivery from concept through to completion (all RIBA stages)

  • Maintain CAD standards, drawing registers, and document management procedures

  • Keep up to date with industry best practices and technical developments

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a similar CAD Technician role within MEP or building services

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D); knowledge of Revit (3D) is beneficial

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently and within a team

  • A relevant CAD qualification (e.g. City & Guilds) is advantageous
