Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer (Contract - Inside IR35)
Location: Manchester (Hybrid working available)
Contract Length: 6 Months with potential to extend
Rate: £40 - £50 per hour (Inside IR35, before cost of supply deductions)
Start Date: ASAP

A highly regarded multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of complex design projects across regulated and technically challenging sectors.

You'll work within an established team of electrical engineers and collaborate closely with internal disciplines, external stakeholders, and clients to produce high-quality electrical building services designs.

This is an exciting opportunity for a contractor with strong technical grounding, a passion for mentoring junior engineers, and experience working on high specification building services projects.

The Role:

• Lead and deliver electrical building services design packages for medium to large-scale projects
• Produce designs in line with regulatory standards, client requirements, and safety guidelines
• Provide technical input throughout project stages - feasibility through to commissioning
• Mentor and support junior engineers and contribute to internal development
• Liaise with other design disciplines to ensure coordinated, integrated solutions
• Support site visits, inspections, and client engagement where required
• Use design tools such as Amtech and Dialux/Relux for system calculations and lighting design
• Provide support in QA processes and contribute to design reviews and coordination workshops
  

Requirements

• Strong background in electrical building services design
• Proficient in industry-standard software (Amtech, Dialux/Relux)
• Experience working on technically complex or regulated sector projects prefered (e.g., healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial, aviation)
• Ability to take ownership of deliverables and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
• HNC or Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
• Chartered or working towards chartership (desirable)
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance and airside passes
