Overview
We're working with a national MEP consultancy seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their small but growing Oxford team. Currently a team of three, the office is closely supported by the firm's Solihull HQ, with plans to establish Oxford as a fully independent design hub.
This is a key strategic hire, aimed at bringing senior-level expertise to the local office-someone who can take technical lead on projects, develop client relationships, and help shape the future of the Oxford operation.
The company delivers sustainable and technically challenging projects across healthcare, education, residential, pharmaceutical, and commercial sectors. They work in a collaborative, cross-office model, providing both autonomy and support where needed.
Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll be the technical lead on a range of building services projects-taking responsibility for electrical design from concept to completion. You'll support project delivery in the Oxford region while collaborating closely with colleagues in Birmingham and across the business.
This is a hands-on role with real leadership potential, ideal for someone looking to help grow a team, shape local project delivery, and step into more strategic responsibilities.
Requirements
Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (HNC/HND with relevant experience also considered)
Minimum 3-4 years' experience in building services electrical design
Skilled in Amtech, Revit, Dialux/Relux, and Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of UK regulations, HV/LV systems, and sustainable technologies
Comfortable working independently and in a small office environment
Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading technical delivery
Professional membership (IET, CIBSE) and progress toward chartership (preferred)
Excellent client-facing and communication skills
What They Offer
Key role in shaping the future of the Oxford office
Agile working policy with flexibility and autonomy
Cross-office support from an established national engineering team
Clear route to Associate-level progression
Competitive salary and benefits, including enhanced leave, wellbeing support, and team events
Opportunity to lead on diverse and technically engaging projects with a sustainability focus
