Ground Investigation Site manager - Overhead Line Ground Investigation
Location: Falkirk area, Central Scotland
Duration: 11-12 weeks (August-October 2025)
Rate: Competitive day rate, DOE (Ltd / PAYE options)
The Project
We are looking for a Ground Investigation Site manager to come in and help deliver an intrusive Ground Investigation in support of an overhead-line upgrade close to Falkirk. The works will characterise soil, rock and groundwater conditions beneath new tower or foundation locations so that the client can finalise foundation and access-track designs.
Ground Investigation Site manager Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise all intrusive GI operations on site, ensuring compliance with RAMS, CDM Regulations and client permit systems.
- Log soils and rocks to BS 5930 / Eurocode 7; schedule geotechnical, chemical and environmental testing.
- Maintain daily records, progress trackers and permit‐to-work documentation; chair daily briefings and toolbox talks.
Ground Investigation Site manager - Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience managing site investigations; prior exposure to power-transmission or linear-infrastructure projects desirable.
- Competent in logging, GI specification and report writing
- Strong understanding of UK H&S legislation; valid CSCS, full UK driving licence. SMSTS, NG Competent Person, or Person & BESC highly advantageous.
- Able to work in remote upland terrain and variable weather.
- Right to work in the UK and immediate availability for August.
