Overview

We're working with a leading national property consultancy to find a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their established MEP and Sustainability team. With a network of over 25 MEP professionals across the UK and a solid project pipeline, this is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to join their Birmingham presence and play a key role in delivering high-quality work across a wide variety of sectors.

You'll work directly with the regional MEP lead, contributing to a diverse range of projects including commercial, public sector, retail, and residential schemes. The business offers real flexibility, with hybrid working and a strong focus on work-life balance. The Birmingham office is looking to expand its capability, so this is a perfect opportunity to shape your role and grow with the team.

Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll be involved in the full lifecycle of building services design and consultancy. This includes technical surveys, due diligence work, project monitoring, and design across both performance and detailed stages.

You'll work independently with support from a national team, managing your own schedule and delivering high-quality technical outputs for clients. Projects are spread across the UK, and you'll be expected to attend site visits regularly.

Requirements

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical or Building Services Engineering

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical design within the built environment

  • Strong understanding of UK building services standards, including BS 7671

  • Proficient in design software such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and AutoCAD

  • Experience delivering technical reports, surveys, and client presentations

  • Comfortable managing workload independently and collaborating with dispersed teams

  • Ideally working toward chartered status (CIBSE/IET) - support provided

  • Willingness to travel for site inspections and client meetings
