The company has evolved from a civil and structural design practice to become a client-focused multidisciplinary consultancy offering services including geotechnical and environmental engineering, civil and structural engineering, transportation, planning and development, landscape design, water services, and health and safety consultancy.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our client's Newcastle office. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to work on diverse projects across multiple sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, rail, and road developments.

The successful candidate will join a team of over 60 geo-engineers working across the company's offices, including Chartered Geotechnical Engineers, Chartered Geologists, Geo-Environmental Engineers, Hydrogeologists, and Mining Legacy Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Site Investigation & Assessment:

  • Undertake scoping and review of Preliminary Risk Assessments and Intrusive Ground investigations
  • Understanding of current ground investigation, sampling and laboratory analysis techniques
  • Plan and supervise ground investigations including drill rigs and trial pitting
  • Conduct site walkovers and Phase 1 desk studies

Technical Analysis & Reporting:

  • Prepare interpretative reports including Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Intrusive Geo-Environmental Reports, Phase 3 Remediation Statements, and Phase 4 Validation Reports
  • Conduct generic and detailed quantitative risk assessments for human health, ground gases and Controlled Waters
  • Develop ground models and geotechnical assessments
  • Understand geology, ground models and geotechnical engineering principles

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Geology/Earth Sciences or related subject
  • Strong academic background with relevant technical knowledge
