Senior Structural Engineer (Chartered) - Urban Regeneration Focus
A leading director-led Consultancy with offices in the North of England is seeking a Chartered Senior Structural Engineer to take a central role in delivering technically complex urban regeneration projects. The practice has built its reputation on technical excellence, bespoke solutions and close client engagement, with every project receiving Director-level oversight from inception to completion.
This is a chance to join the team on some truly standout city centre schemes; think commercial towers, mixed-use developments, and skyline-defining builds that are reshaping the heart of Leeds. Projects include major regeneration at Eastgate Quarter alongside landmark developments on Whitehall Road and Globe Road, where constrained sites and demanding design briefs call for inventive and pragmatic engineering solutions.
Applicants must hold Chartered Engineer status in structural or civil and structural engineering and be able to demonstrate senior-level experience. A proven track record in designing concrete frame systems is essential, as is the ability to address and resolve the challenges of working within confined urban sites. Strong client-facing skills and commercial acumen are required, with an emphasis on concrete frame design, urban regeneration projects and managing space-constrained sites.
The Consultancy operates a collaborative, BIM-integrated workflow, with Revit used to enhance constructability, coordination and delivery. While leadership and initiative are expected, this position is deliberately designed to focus on technical and project delivery responsibilities rather than people management or business development. It will particularly suit engineers who take pride in technical rigour and who prefer to be immersed in the detail of design and delivery.
In addition to offering the opportunity to work on high-profile city centre schemes, the firm provides an environment that supports professional growth and engagement with both public and private sector clients. The culture is one of accountability, quality and collaboration, and staff are encouraged to contribute meaningfully to the built environment while also supporting the development of future engineering talent.
