We are looking for a highly motivated Engineer or Senior Engineer to join our clients expanding Infrastructure team in Bristol. You will become part of a collaborative and dynamic group, working alongside colleagues in Transport and Flood Risk, and supporting the delivery of a wide range of development projects across the region.
They are an award-winning, employee-owned consultancy delivering innovative and sustainable Civil Engineering solutions across the UK. With multiple regional offices and a strong culture of collaboration, they provide excellent opportunities for career development and the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of projects.
Their client base includes many of the UK's leading residential developers, as well as clients in the industrial, commercial and energy sectors. Typical residential schemes range from around 100 units to several thousand dwellings and involve designs for access, drainage, levels and earthworks. They deliver projects through all stages, from early feasibility and planning, through detailed design, to construction.
The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and a sound knowledge of guidance and regulations such as Sewer Sector Guidance, Building Regulations, DMRB and Ciria C753. Experience within a Consultancy environment, particularly on residential development schemes, would be highly beneficial. Proficiency in MicroDrainage/Flow and AutoCAD is essential, and experience with Civils 3D or Site 3D would be an advantage. A good understanding of pre-planning, planning and detailed design is required, including technical approvals such as S104, S38 and S278.
In this role, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and design of multiple schemes, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are achieved. You will provide support and guidance to junior Engineers, reviewing and delegating work where appropriate, and checking drawings and calculations to ensure compliance with design standards and quality assurance procedures. You will also liaise directly with clients and stakeholders, preparing fee proposals, managing the financial aspects of projects, and contributing to business development. Your design work will cover a wide range of tasks, including the preparation of drainage strategies, levels strategies and earthwork appraisals, planning documents such as Flood Risk Assessments, drainage notes and utilities statements, due diligence reviews for land acquisitions, detailed design and construction drawings, and securing technical approvals.
