Structural Design Engineer
Bath

An independent Engineering Consultancy with UK and Ireland roots is growing again and looking for a Structural Design Engineer to join its Bath team. From a close-knit start-up to a forty-strong practice working across the UK, Europe and beyond, the business has built long-term relationships and a portfolio that ranges from automated distribution centres for global brands to industrial, residential, retail and commercial developments at a variety of scales.

Founded in 2011, the consultancy has grown from just three people in Dun Laoghaire to nearly forty engineers and technicians across two offices. Their reputation is built on technical excellence, sustainability and long-term client partnerships, with projects spanning the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. Recent growth has included the establishment of the Bath office, a rebrand, and an expanded leadership team - all part of a strategy to create a modern, collaborative practice with a global reach but a close-knit culture.

You'll bring around two to five years' UK experience and the confidence to take ownership of work while knowing senior support is right beside you. Day to day you'll develop structural designs in steel, concrete and timber-think steel portal frames, mezzanine and composite structures, connection design, multi-storey frames, slabs, foundations and retaining walls. You'll use 3D modelling and analysis tools such as Tekla Structural Designer, Robot or ETABS, work to Eurocodes and British Standards, and communicate clearly through reports, specifications and neat sketches that make design intent obvious.

Projects move from concept through detailed design and into construction, and you'll collaborate closely with engineers and technicians in both offices. The role is primarily office-based in Bath, with the potential for occasional international travel as your career progresses, reflecting the firm's footprint across Ireland, the UK, Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. The culture is open and ambitious: new ideas are encouraged, younger engineers are given room to push boundaries and challenge the status quo, and professional development is actively supported all the way to chartership.

In return you can expect a competitive salary, bi-annual bonuses, support with CPD, training and professional fees, plus a sociable calendar with contributions to sports and team events, including company-wide overnight outings. It's a place where you can grow quickly, make a visible impact on projects and be part of a team that backs great engineering with genuine collaboration.

If this sounds like the right next step, message me in confidence to learn more and I'll share the details.
