Senior Structural Engineer
Sheffield
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Structural, Civil and Geo-Environmental consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-profile projects across the UK. Their portfolio spans high-rise residential developments, complex refurbishments and heritage-sensitive schemes, making them a practice recognised for technical excellence and client-focused service.
They are now seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing team and take a leading role in the design and delivery of challenging, high-profile projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the design and analysis of structures across a wide variety of sectors, from large-scale new builds to the sensitive refurbishment of heritage buildings. The role will involve structural assessments, feasibility studies, technical reporting and hands-on involvement in delivering innovative yet practical solutions.
This position also carries a leadership responsibility, providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians while ensuring that high standards of quality, safety and compliance are consistently achieved. Collaboration and communication are central to the role, requiring close coordination with architects, contractors and clients to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standard. Developing strong professional relationships will be essential, as will a proactive and solutions-driven approach.
Applicants should hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and be Chartered with IStructE or ICE. Significant experience in both new-build and refurbishment projects, ideally including high-rise and heritage work, is essential. Strong technical ability with design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Robot Structural Analysis or ETABS will be expected, alongside excellent project management and organisational skills.
In return, the consultancy offers a competitive salary and benefits package together with the opportunity to take a central role in delivering some of the UK's most exciting structural projects. The role promises continued professional development within a forward-thinking culture that values innovation, collaboration and technical excellence.
