The Engineering Geologist Role
Our client is a well-established ground engineering contractor specialising in comprehensive site investigations. With a proven track record of delivering reliable and professional services, they work with a diverse range of clients across various sectors. The company maintains strong client relationships through their proactive approach and technical expertise in ground investigation projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with a small, collaborative team of 3 engineers and will report to the team leader. This role offers significant hands-on experience and the opportunity to contribute to projects from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site investigations using standard SI techniques and supervise trial pitting operations
- Provide drill supervision and manage drilling contractors on various ground investigation projects
- Undertake soil and rock logging to current industry guidelines and standards
- Plan and execute detailed field investigations including borehole drilling and sample analysis
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports and factual ground investigation reports
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout project delivery
- Conduct geological mapping and site assessments for construction projects
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry best practices
- Support project management activities including planning, programming, and budget monitoring
- Collaborate with geotechnical engineers and other specialists on multidisciplinary projects
