Geo-Environmental Engineer - Durham
Join An Ambitious Team Where Your Expertise Will Drive Real Environmental Impact
I'm looking for an intuitive Engineer to join a growing consultancy team in Durham, where you'll play a vital role in solving complex environmental challenges while building a rewarding long-term career.
Geo-Environmental Engineer Opportunities
This role offers the perfect blend of technical challenge and professional growth. You'll work on diverse projects spanning contaminated land assessment, geotechnical investigations, and environmental risk management across varied sectors. From supervising cutting-edge site investigations to developing innovative remediation strategies, every day brings new challenges that will expand your expertise and industry knowledge.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone with a solid foundation in Engineering Geology or Environmental Engineering, coupled with a few years of hands-on consulting experience. Your journey toward chartership (or achievement of it) demonstrates your commitment to professional excellence, while your practical experience in site investigations and contaminated land frameworks shows you're ready to hit the ground running.
Your ability to interpret UK soil and rock strata using current British Standards, combined with experience in Phase I & II assessments, will be invaluable as you take on increasingly complex projects. Knowledge of CAD and Holebase systems, plus experience with cover soil and gas protection verification, will help you stand out.
Work-Life Excellence
We believe great work happens when people have balance and support. You'll enjoy flexible working arrangements combining Durham office time, site work, and home working options. This comprehensive package includes 30 days total holiday (with options to purchase more), excellent pension contributions, and a full driving package including pool vehicles and mileage reimbursement.
The benefits grow with your tenure - from immediate access to employee discounts and assistance programs, to health cash plans, car leasing schemes, and technology packages as you establish yourself with the team.
This role offers the rare combination of technical challenge, professional development, and genuine work-life balance. You'll work with a team that invests in your growth while tackling projects that make a real difference to communities and the environment.
