This is an outstanding opportunity for a capable Principal to take the reins on complex, high-impact projects, to mentor within multidisciplinary environmental teams and further shape the technical direction of an ambitious, growing business.
The Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer Role
This position suits a hands-on technical leader with a deep background in geo-environmental, geotechnical, or engineering geology projects. As Principal, you will take responsibility for overseeing major site investigations, contaminated land assessments and ground engineering studies on both legacy and new projects.
You will look to guide junior and mid-level staff, apply your expertise to challenging projects, and help deliver consultancy services to prestigious industrial, residential, and infrastructure clients. There is real scope to influence technical quality, mentor others, and contribute to both business development and project delivery.
Key Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery of geo-environmental, engineering geology, contaminated land, and geotechnical projects from scoping to completion
- Mentor and support project engineers and consultants-nurturing the next generation of specialists
- Drive best practices, technical innovation, and continual improvement across site investigation, report writing, and regulatory compliance
- Participate in project reviews, ensuring robust, practical client solutions and risk management
- Contribute to client liaison, bids, and delivery of high-value, multidisciplinary work
- Engage with new technical areas, including geophysics and advanced environmental monitoring
