A leading UK Consultancy within the water and environmental infrastructure sector is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join its expanding team in Leeds. This position offers an opportunity to play a key role in delivering major water infrastructure projects across the UK, contributing to sustainable, resilient and innovative engineering solutions that enhance communities and protect the environment.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading and delivering Civil Engineering design throughout all stages of the project lifecycle - from strategic planning and feasibility through to detailed design and delivery support. The role will involve managing multidisciplinary teams, mentoring developing Engineers and working directly with clients to ensure the effective design and delivery of clean water, wastewater, drainage and flood management schemes. The work will include network design, treatment works, urban drainage, surface water management and climate resilience initiatives, with a focus on innovation, sustainability and digital design.

Applicants should be Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineers, ideally through ICE or CIWEM, with substantial experience in the water, environmental or infrastructure sectors. They should demonstrate strong technical leadership, sound engineering judgement and a collaborative approach to project delivery. Proven experience managing design teams, coordinating complex infrastructure projects and contributing to framework or programme delivery is highly desirable. A passion for developing people, driving technical excellence and embedding sustainable practices is essential.
