Civil Design Engineer

We are representing a respected, employee-owned Consultancy known for delivering practical, commercially focused engineering solutions. Their Leeds-based team is seeking a Civil Engineer with strong drainage and highways experience to support a growing portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use development projects.

In this role you will be responsible for the design and delivery of infrastructure works, including foul and surface water drainage strategies, S104 and S185 applications, S38 and S278 highway designs, and detailed earthworks and levels assessments. You will work closely with clients, local authorities and regulatory bodies to progress schemes from concept through to technical approval, ensuring compliance, buildability and engineering efficiency. Your work will contribute directly to new developments, regeneration sites and brownfield transformations across the region.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, prepare engineering calculations, assist with producing technical drawings and specifications, and contribute to project planning and coordination. You will also play a role in identifying practical design solutions, providing technical support to colleagues, and helping maintain strong client relationships built on responsiveness, clarity and reliability.

You will hold a degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, and you will ideally have experience in UK drainage and highway design using tools such as MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, Civil 3D or similar. Candidates with three or more years' relevant experience, including those progressing from degree apprenticeships, are encouraged to apply. Strong communication skills, a proactive mindset and the ability to manage tasks to deadlines are essential.
