We are supporting an established, employee-owned Consultancy that delivers engineering, environmental and infrastructure solutions designed to strengthen communities and improve climate resilience. They are looking for a Project Leader (Engineer) who can take a strong technical and organisational role across a wide portfolio of design and appraisal projects.
As Project Leader, you will take responsibility for guiding complex engineering work from planning through to delivery. You will work across infrastructure, flood risk management and environmental asset management schemes, providing oversight on design quality, technical direction and project progress. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with both public and private sector clients and help integrate modern, sustainable and digital approaches into project workflows.
Your role will involve managing resources, budgets and specifications, ensuring designs meet client expectations, contributing to bids and tenders, and supporting long-term client relationships. You will champion best practice across resilience, sustainability, social value and digital transformation, helping shape how projects are delivered across the Consultancy.
You will be degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline such as geotechnical, mechanical or electrical engineering. You will ideally be working towards or already hold Incorporated or Chartered status and should bring strong communication and team-leadership qualities, experience mentoring junior colleagues and a passion for delivering technically robust, sustainable solutions.
This Consultancy promotes a positive, supportive working environment with structured development pathways, chartership support, wellbeing initiatives and employee-ownership benefits. The position is based in a modern Leeds City Centre office with excellent transport links and a hybrid working culture that supports flexibility and work/life balance.
