Principal or Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer

Location: Central Manchester (City Centre)
Salary: £55,000-£60,000+ (DOE) + progression

The Opportunity

We're working with a highly respected multi disciplinary consultancy that is expanding its presence in Manchester and looking to appoint a Principal or Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer to help lead that growth.

Importantly, this is not a start-from-scratch role. The business already has a well-established client base, a strong regional pipeline of work, and an experienced technical and field team in place to support delivery.

This role offers the chance to step into a senior leadership position, working closely with the Director to develop the Manchester city-centre Geo team, strengthen existing client relationships, and drive further local business development.

Principal or Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a wide range of ground investigations and contaminated land projects
• Author and review Phase 1 & Phase 2 reports, risk assessments, remediation strategies, validation reports and due diligence
• Provide geotechnical input and foundation recommendations
• Work alongside an established technical and site investigation team to ensure high-quality delivery
• Support and lead bids, tenders and client development activities, building on an existing client base
• Assist the Director with financial control, budgets and strategic planning
• Mentor staff and help grow a Manchester-based Geo-Environmental team

Principal or Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer - About You

• 8+ years' experience in Geo-Environmental / Geotechnical consultancy
• Chartered (Geological Society, IES, ICE or equivalent)
• Strong technical capability across contaminated land and GI
• Highly competent technical author and reviewer
• Commercially aware with experience in business development and client engagement
• Motivated to step into a leadership role within an established, supportive business
