Infrastructure Engineer
Location: South Manchester
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
The Opportunity
An established and growing civil and structural engineering consultancy in South Manchester is looking to appoint an experienced Infrastructure Engineer due to a sustained increase in project workload.
This is a long-term opportunity to join a stable and well-structured business with a strong pipeline of secured work across a variety of sectors. The role would suit an engineer with around 4-8 years' experience within a consultancy environment who is confident delivering highways and drainage designs across multiple live schemes.
The Role
You will work closely with senior engineers and the wider design team, supporting the delivery of infrastructure packages from concept through to construction.
Project sectors include:
Commercial and industrial developments
Residential schemes
Large-scale mixed-use projects
Technically challenging and design-led developments
You will be involved in both adoptable and private infrastructure design, liaising with local authorities and utility providers where required.
Key Responsibilities
Producing highways and drainage designs using industry-standard software
Preparing technical drawings, reports and supporting calculations
Coordinating with architects, structural engineers and external stakeholders
Managing multiple live projects and meeting agreed deadlines
Assisting with Section 38, 278 and 104 submissions
Supporting value engineering and practical design solutions
Requirements
4-8 years' experience as an Infrastructure Engineer within consultancy
Experience in highways and drainage design
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and relevant drainage/highways software
Experience dealing with local authorities and utility providers
Comfortable working in a collaborative, office-led environment
