Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer
Location: Exeter (Hybrid - 2 days WFH)
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 + benefits
This is an opportunity to join a close-knit team of around 25 staff, where you'll play a key role in delivering technically strong, buildable designs across a genuinely varied project portfolio.
You'll be working across sectors including healthcare, MOD, education (from primary schools through to universities), commercial, and residential. Projects range from complex refurbishments through to new build developments, with the added benefit of working both client-side and alongside contractors-giving you well-rounded exposure and a deeper understanding of how projects are delivered on site.
The business prides itself on developing high-quality engineers, with a strong emphasis on practical design and real-world application. You'll be given the autonomy to take ownership of your projects, build client relationships, and support the development of junior engineers within the team.
The Role:
Lead mechanical design on a range of building services projects
Engage directly with clients and project stakeholders
Produce detailed, technically sound, and buildable designs
Mentor and support graduate engineers
Contribute to maintaining strong client relationships and repeat business
