We are working with a leading, employee-owned international consultancy to appoint a Principal Transport Modeller to support the growth of their UK transport planning and Aimsun modelling capability.
This is a senior opportunity combining technical excellence, client engagement, and team leadership, where you will play a key role in delivering complex transport modelling using Aimsun for Local Authorities across the UK.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading transport modelling projects using Aimsun and other industry tools
- Delivering model development, calibration, validation, and scenario testing
- Supporting transport strategy, appraisal, and investment decisions
- Managing project delivery, including programme, budget, and quality
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships to secure repeat work
- Leading proposals, bids, and business development activities
- Mentoring and developing junior and mid-level team members
- Driving innovation across modelling, data, and visualisation
Required Experience
- Proven experience delivering multimodal transport modelling projects using Aimsun
- Strong understanding of DfT WebTAG and UK appraisal methodologies
- Experience managing projects and contributing to larger multidisciplinary schemes
- A track record of supporting bids, proposals, and client development
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A relevant degree in transport planning, engineering, or similar
