Domestic Gas Engineer - HVAC Training & Progression

Salary: £35,000+ depending on experience
Location: Yorkshire - LS, WF, HG & YO postcodes
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
Are you a qualified Domestic Gas Engineer looking for a role where you can build on your existing experience and develop into commercial HVAC?
This is a permanent opportunity for a Gas Safe registered engineer to join an established heating and building services business covering areas across Leeds, Wakefield, Harrogate, York and surrounding locations.
The role will initially focus on your existing domestic gas skills, including servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repairs. However, the business is looking to develop its HVAC and commercial offering, so there is a genuine opportunity for the right engineer to receive training and broaden their skill set.
You don't need to be an experienced HVAC engineer already. The priority is finding someone with solid domestic gas experience who is reliable, presentable, keen to work and genuinely interested in learning.

The Role

As a Domestic Gas Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out gas servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repair work across the Yorkshire area.
The position will involve working at customer properties and other sites, so you'll need to be comfortable working independently and representing the business professionally.
As your experience develops, you'll have the opportunity to become involved with commercial gas and HVAC work, with training available for someone who wants to progress in this direction.
The working week can vary depending on workload, so flexibility is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair domestic gas appliances and heating systems

  • Diagnose and rectify gas and heating faults

  • Carry out planned servicing and maintenance

  • Complete work safely and in accordance with current regulations

  • Maintain accurate job records and service documentation

  • Provide a professional service to customers

  • Work across the LS, WF, HG and YO postcode areas

  • Attend different sites and properties as required

  • Develop knowledge of commercial heating and HVAC systems through training

  • Support the wider business as your skills and experience develop

What You'll Need

You'll need to be an experienced Domestic Gas Engineer with current Gas Safe registration and the relevant domestic qualifications.
Essential qualifications:

  • CCN1

  • CENWAT

  • CKR1

  • HTR1

  • G3 Unvented

  • Gas Safe registration

  • Full UK driving licence

Previous experience working with domestic gas appliances, heating systems, servicing and fault finding is essential.
Commercial gas or HVAC experience would be useful, but it is not essential.
More important is your attitude. The business is looking for someone who is reliable, presentable, willing to work and keen to learn. If you're a domestic gas engineer who wants to develop into commercial gas, air conditioning and HVAC, training can be provided.

What's On Offer

  • £35,000+ salary depending on experience

  • Ford Transit Custom company van

  • Fuel card

  • Reasonable private use of the company vehicle

  • Spare company van available

  • Company tools and equipment provided

  • Saturday overtime paid at 1.5x

  • 20 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays

  • 8:00am - 5:00pm working hours

  • Flexibility around working hours when required

  • Parking costs covered where parking is required for work

  • Training and development opportunities

  • Opportunity to progress into commercial gas and HVAC

  • Permanent position

  • Work across LS, WF, HG and YO
