A leading, employee-owned engineering consultancy is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer to join its growing Transportation Design team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bridge/structural design professional who’s ready to step into greater project leadership and make an impact on high-profile infrastructure work.

We're looking for a Structural Engineer with experience of Penn-DOT Bridge Structural designs.

What You'll Do

  • Lead structural/bridge design projects from concept development through final design and construction.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts and ensure technical excellence across all deliverables.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record—reviewing and sealing plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Mentor junior engineers; review and check technical work.
  • Conduct field visits and participate in on-site and off-site meetings.
  • Support proposal development, project scoping, and staffing projections.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, external consultants, and clients.
  • Attend professional/industry events to foster relationships and support business development initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • 4–8 years of experience in Penn-DOT Bridge structural design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited program required).
  • Strong technical foundation and the ability to lead components of complex projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, AASHTO bridge design code, PennDOT bridge design software, and structural analysis programs.
  • Ability to complete site visits as part of project responsibilities.
  • Experience with PennDOT (Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is a plus).
