A leading, employee-owned engineering consultancy is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Engineer to join its growing Transportation Design team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bridge/structural design professional who’s ready to step into greater project leadership and make an impact on high-profile infrastructure work.
We're looking for a Structural Engineer with experience of Penn-DOT Bridge Structural designs.
What You'll Do
- Lead structural/bridge design projects from concept development through final design and construction.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts and ensure technical excellence across all deliverables.
- Serve as Engineer of Record—reviewing and sealing plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Mentor junior engineers; review and check technical work.
- Conduct field visits and participate in on-site and off-site meetings.
- Support proposal development, project scoping, and staffing projections.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, external consultants, and clients.
- Attend professional/industry events to foster relationships and support business development initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- 4–8 years of experience in Penn-DOT Bridge structural design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited program required).
- Strong technical foundation and the ability to lead components of complex projects.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Proficiency in MicroStation, AASHTO bridge design code, PennDOT bridge design software, and structural analysis programs.
- Ability to complete site visits as part of project responsibilities.
- Experience with PennDOT (Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is a plus).
