Andrew Ching

I’ve been in the recruitment industry since graduating in 2016 – like many I “fell” into it but it’s something I thoroughly enjoy to this day. I started out doing contract healthcare recruitment which was incredibly fast-paced. After joining Calibre I became a specialist contract recruiter in the Architecture industry which later expanded into interior design. Since 2023 I’ve recruited to the FM industry. Working across multiple industries has been enriching, exposing me to multiple perspectives while finding many of the skills carry across recruitment as a whole.

Ensuring both clients and candidates are happy and the placements I make long-term are what’s most important to me. Getting repeat business and referrals are extremely satisfying and some of the best things about this job. My favourite placements have always been the tricky ones. Either a role that’s been open for a long time or a candidate that’s been on the market for a while. Finding someone who fits perfectly feels like uncovering hidden treasure and makes all the hard work worth it.

I’m incredibly accurate at throwing things into bins when no one is looking although this drastically changes when someone is. When I was younger I played the piano and had a passion for music. Unfortunately this talent was replaced by far less noteworthy things like completing an essay at exactly 11:59pm.
