Teams Interview

How to download and use Teams for your upcoming interview

Here's how to download and use the Microsoft Teams App

The information you've written is broadly correct and clear, but it could benefit from a few factual tweaks and clarity improvements to ensure accuracy and ease of understanding—especially for those less tech-savvy. Here's a refined version, including corrections:

Using Microsoft Teams for Your Interview

Microsoft Teams is easy to use and similar to FaceTime or WhatsApp Video. That said, practicing ahead of the big day can help your interview go smoothly—and our consultants will be happy to help you do this.

Downloading Teams

Download the Microsoft Teams app from:

  • The App Store (iPhone)

  • The Google Play Store (Android)

To create a free account:

  1. Open the app and tap Sign up for free (you may need to choose "Sign up" on the Microsoft page instead).

  2. Choose For personal use.

  3. Enter your email address.

  4. Create a password that includes:

    • At least 8 characters

    • One uppercase letter

    • One lowercase letter

    • One number

    • One symbol (like &, %, $, !, etc.)

  5. Enter your name.

  6. Enter your country/region and date of birth.

  7. Verify your identity using the code sent to your phone or email.

  8. Allow the app to access your microphone and send notifications when prompted.

  9. Press Continue, then OK if asked to access your contacts (this is optional).

How to Join the Interview

Once you have Teams downloaded, there are three main ways to join your video interview:

1. Via Email Invitation (Recommended)

  • Open the interview invite email on your phone or device.

  • Tap the blue 'Join Microsoft Teams Meeting' link a minute or two before the meeting starts.

  • If prompted, open the link in the Teams app.

  • Tap Join now.

  • Make sure your camera and microphone icons (usually bottom of the screen) are switched on.

  • Once you can see your face on the screen, you’re in!

  • Enjoy the meeting and good luck!

2. Via Teams Notification

  • You may get a notification when the meeting is about to start.

  • Tap Join.

  • Check your camera and microphone are on.

  • Once your video starts, you're in the meeting.

  • Have a practice the day before—our team is happy to help.

3. Directly in the Teams App

  • Open the Teams app.

  • Tap More (bottom right), then go to Calendar.

  • Find the appointment and tap Join.

  • Turn on your camera and microphone before joining.

  • You're good to go!
