Structural Engineer Surveys Reports Design

We are currently partnered with an independent engineering practice based in Salfords, Surrey, as they look to add a Structural Engineer to their team.

The candidate will be accountable to the Directors but be working on their own initiative to provide innovative and cost-effective design solutions in core materials, for a variety of projects across the commercial and residential sectors.

The role includes:

• Structural design
• Structural detailing
• Structural reports
• Site inspections and appraisals
• Design checks
• Design team meeting attendance

The candidate must:

• At least four years of industry experience in a similar consultancy environment
• Be fully conversant with British Standards and equivalent Eurocodes
• Be IT literate and have excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Have experience with structural design software packages such as Masterseries and Tedds
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage but not essential
• Hold a full UK driving licence
• Have the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and to strict deadlines

A large ascepct of this role involves carrying out feasibility and structural assessment reports for commercial and domestic clients looking to redevelop or modernise existing properties, as well as providing reports on identified structural issues.

The consultancy also support Property Managers, Building Surveyors and Homeowners where structural reports or advice is required to address highlighted areas of concern. Additionally, they provide structural surveys within the residential property market to support house purchase and sales.

From a design standpoint, the consultancy mainly provides structural design for commercial and domestic clients ranging from new build developments and refurbishments of commercial and residential properties. They also provide their clients with an expert engineering team equipped with diverse skills to meet various challenges across industries.
