We're currently working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy that is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their well-established team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to contribute to a broad range of development and infrastructure projects across the full lifecycle.
The Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality planning and design solutions for civil infrastructure schemes. The position offers a mix of technical design work, project management responsibilities, and mentoring junior team members. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities Include:
Leading the civil engineering design process for development and infrastructure projects
Producing drawings and technical documents across all project stages, from feasibility to construction
Designing earthworks, road layouts, pavements, and sustainable drainage systems
Preparing and reviewing specifications and contributing to quality assurance procedures
Liaising with clients, contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals
Providing technical oversight and support to less experienced engineers, acting as a mentor and coach
Engaging in project delivery and contributing to successful, commercially viable outcomes
About You:
Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Ideally chartered, or working toward professional accreditation
Strong background in delivering infrastructure design, ideally within development-led schemes
Confident using design tools such as AutoCAD, Civils 3D, and InfoDrainage (or equivalents)
Experience in producing Drainage Strategies and Sustainable Drainage (SuDS) solutions
Knowledge of earthworks and pavement design is advantageous (or a willingness to develop in these areas)
Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams
