Role: Electrical Design Coordinator
Location: Cambridge
Salary: Up to £60k Area
Founded over 70 years ago and boasting 2 offices, this building services contractors are one of the most established and successful within the UK with an annual turnover of £40m+. They specialise in the IInstallation and Maintenance of M&E services, and they complete projects across all sectors around Essex and Cambridgeshire. Their constant high-quality workmanship and professionalism for every project has resulted in a record of repeat business. In line with their consistent growth, they are now seeking an Electrical Design Coordinator.
This role is ideal for an experienced electrical design engineer that is seeking a move away from their consultancy background into a challenging contractor environment. As a business, they are experienced in facilitating the transition from consultancy to contactor as they have hired multiple engineers from a consultancy background. You would be managing the design process on several multi-million pound projects, working closely with architects, consultants, clients and sub-contractors.
A successful candidate will ideally have:
- 5+ years' experience within a consultancy environment on the electrical design front.
- Capability designing a variety of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire systems & security systems.
- Proven record of working to BIM level 2
- Experience with detailed design (RIBA stages 1-2)
- Experience using Amtech, DiaLUX and Relux
- Experience generating reports, design schematics and attending clients/contractor meetings.
- Ability to work with, assist and manage junior/intermediate staff.
