Structural/Civil Project Engineer (+3 years)

My client is a young Civil and Structural engineering practice providing practical advice to Developers, Architects, and Builders throughout the UK but principally in London and the Home Counties and the East Midlands. They have a small but growing team and as part of their expansion they are looking to recruit an experienced graduate engineer.

You'll have the opportunity to be working first hand on wide variety of challenging projects. You will work on all aspects of the projects from the design through to meeting clients. The work comprises residential, commercial, industrial and retail schemes.

The successful Graduate Structural/ Civil Engineer will receive training to help you on your advancement to becoming a professionally recognised engineer. They appreciate that career development is an important part when it comes to choosing a job and are committed to helping you.

You will work alongside a Technical Director and experienced engineer who will support you in structural design calculations in steel, concrete, timber and masonry and producing engineering drawings.

Essential requirements for the role:
* Relevant degree qualification - Upper 2nd BSc (Hons)/ BEng/ MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering that is an accredited BSc (Hons)/ BEng/ MEng degree (or equivalent) recognised by the ICE or IStructE that will enable progression to professional qualification(s)
* Knowledge of relevant Eurocodes/British Standards used in the design of civil structures and buildings utilising steel, concrete and masonry.
* Full right to work in the UK.
* Working knowledge of Eurocodes/British Standards in the design of civil structures and buildings utilising steel, concrete and masonry
* Experience in the use of industry standard drawing and structural analysis software.
* Experience of client liaison (e.g. meetings or presentations) and account management/ relationship development
* Experience in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines, within budget and to programme, to control costs and to effectively manage resources and change control.

Desirable experience:
* Full Drivers Licence
* Knowledge of Drainage design and strategies

Primarily the role will be technical design but as you are trained and mentored on taking responsibility, you will be running projects as soon as you are able to prepare for and attend design team, site and client meetings, co-ordinate design on projects and packages of work with clients and fellow professionals.
