Are you an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Engineer-or a heavy commercial engineer ready to step up into larger systems?
If so, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
About the Role
We're looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to join our growing team, servicing, maintaining, and repairing a range of refrigeration systems-including large-scale industrial ammonia plant. This is a mobile role, covering the region, so a valid UK driving license is essential.
Whether you're already working with ammonia systems or come from a heavy commercial background with the right foundations, we're open to upskilling the right candidate who's eager to make the move into industrial refrigeration.
Main Responsibilities
Service, maintain, and repair refrigeration and process plant equipment.
Liaise with customers to ensure satisfaction and identify additional business opportunities.
Complete detailed technical reports and timesheets to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
Install and commission new plant equipment to a high standard.
Maintain compliance with company health and safety standards, making improvement recommendations where necessary.
Deliver work in line with company quality and service standards.
Carry out other related duties as required.
Required Experience
NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning or equivalent.
Ammonia handling certification (preferred-but training can be provided for the right commercial candidate).
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Service Engineer/Technician or successful completion of an apprenticeship.
Strong practical knowledge of refrigeration and A/C systems (both mechanical and electrical).
Awareness of health and safety practices and safe refrigerant handling (including ammonia/hydrocarbons).
Flexibility to work overtime and take part in a call-out rota.
Desirable Experience
Strong understanding of electrical controls and commissioning.
IPAF (boom and scissor lift).
CSCS card.
Package
£60,000 annual salary
50-hour work week (8 hours on site, 2 hours travel)
Overtime opportunities
33 days holiday (25 days + 8 bank holidays)
On-call standby 1 in 5 weeks (£200 per standby week)
Company pension
Fully equipped company van
