A well-established private MEP consultancy is looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding Cambridge team.
You'll be joining a business known for its sustainability-first approach to M&E design, with a strong track record delivering Net Zero Carbon strategies across complex buildings in education, healthcare, pharma, and research.
This is a great opportunity to step into a project-leading role, working alongside in-house specialists in Sustainability, Power Systems, Acoustics, and more. The Cambridge office is led by a well-respected Director managing a 14-strong team of mechanical and electrical engineers.
What You'll Be Doing:Working closely with the Mechancial Team on the design and delivery of MEP projects across a mix of new build and refurbishment schemes
Developing low carbon and net zero design strategies for complex, live, multi-building sites
Working on major HE/FE campus developments, laboratories, pharma production facilities, and healthcare environments
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the UK
Contributing to innovation and sustainability goals within the wider business
What We're Looking For:Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with building services experience
Ideally working towards CEng or already chartered
Experience assisting with MEP project delivery
Comfortable designing for technically challenging environments (labs, hospitals, or education buildings)
Passionate about sustainable engineering and low carbon design
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
