A friendly, well-established Engineering Consultancy based just outside Leeds City Centre is looking to welcome a Graduate Structural Engineer into their team. They've built a strong reputation over many years and work across a really varied mix of projects, including some more niche schemes, which makes it a great place to get broad and interesting experience early on.

This would suit someone at the start of their career who's keen to learn, build confidence and gradually take on more responsibility. You won't be thrown in at the deep end here - instead, you'll be supported by experienced engineers who are happy to guide you, answer questions and help you develop at your own pace.

You'll get involved in a bit of everything, from helping with calculations and drawings through to supporting reports and occasionally getting out on site. It's a good opportunity to see how projects come together from the early design stages right through to construction, rather than being stuck doing one small part of the process.

Over time, you'll start to build your understanding of how structures are designed using materials like steel, concrete, timber and masonry, while getting to grips with UK standards and best practice. You'll also pick up experience working alongside other consultants and learning how teams collaborate on projects.

They're ideally looking for someone with a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, a basic understanding of engineering principles and a willingness to learn. Just as important is attitude - they're keen to meet someone who is self-motivated, curious and interested in exploring new ideas and different types of projects. With the variety of work on offer, there's plenty of opportunity to get involved in different areas if you're someone who wants to push themselves and try new things.

There's a real focus on development here, with a strong mix of Incorporated and Chartered Engineers in the team, including a Chartered leader who is actively involved in mentoring. You'll have the right support around you to work towards chartership at a pace that suits you, with guidance available when you need it rather than being left to figure things out alone.

As the role involves visiting sites, you'll need a full UK driving licence and access to your own car (insured for business use).

Salary is up to £29,000 depending on experience and skills, with the added benefit of free parking and a supportive, down-to-earth working environment.

Overall, this is a great opportunity to join a team where attitude and willingness to learn are valued just as highly as experience, giving you the chance to build a long-term career in structural engineering.
