An established and award-winning multidisciplinary Consultancy is looking to appoint either an experienced Associate Structural Engineer or a Senior Structural Engineer ready to step up into an Associate-level role within its Leicester office. With a strong presence across the East Midlands and a growing national portfolio, the business has built a reputation over the last 15 years for delivering practical, high-quality engineering solutions across a wide range of sectors, and is continuing to grow with a clear focus on long-term, sustainable expansion.
The Leicester team plays a key role within the wider business, working collaboratively across multiple UK offices while maintaining a close-knit and supportive environment locally. Projects span education, healthcare, industrial, commercial and residential sectors, ranging from smaller housing schemes through to multi-storey developments, typically valued between £250k and £30m. Alongside design work, the team also undertakes structural inspections across both commercial and residential buildings, giving a well-rounded mix of project exposure.
This is a key position within the structural team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of both project delivery and team development while contributing to the continued growth of the business. You'll be responsible for leading and managing elements of the Leicester structural team, delivering high-quality engineering solutions across a varied portfolio and taking projects from early concept through to completion. The role will involve regular liaison with clients, consultants and contractors, building strong working relationships and supporting ongoing business development activities.
Technically, you'll be working across all primary construction materials including steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry, producing efficient, buildable and sustainable designs. The team utilises industry-standard software including TEDDS, TEKLA and CSC Portal Frame Designer, alongside traditional hand calculations where required. You'll also ensure designs are delivered in line with current standards, codes of practice and BIM Level 2 requirements. A good working knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles would be beneficial given the range of projects and site conditions.
The role would suit someone with a solid background in structural engineering, typically around 10 years' experience or more, who is confident delivering projects and has either led teams or is ready to step into that responsibility. You'll bring strong analytical and problem-solving ability, along with clear communication skills and a client-focused approach. You'll likely be Chartered, or working towards Chartership, with a relevant Civil or Structural Engineering degree.
Culturally, this is a Consultancy that places real value on its people. There is a strong track record of mentoring engineers through to Chartership with ICE or IStructE, supported by an experienced and approachable leadership team. You'll play a key role in mentoring and developing junior engineers and technicians, helping to strengthen the team while continuing to progress your own career within a supportive and collaborative environment.
In return, you can expect a competitive salary and benefits package, including pension and healthcare support, alongside ongoing professional development and clear progression opportunities as the business continues to grow.
