Principal / Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer - Contaminated Land

The opportunity

We're working with a well-respected, large scale, independent civil and structural consultancy in central London that's growing fast. They've built a strong Ground Engineering division and are now investing seriously in contaminated land - and they need the right person to help lead it.

This isn't a pure delivery role. There's a healthy pipeline and an established client base already feeding through the business, so the commercial foundations are there. What they need is a technically strong Geo-Environmental Engineer to take ownership of the contaminated land specialism and help drive it forward.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading contaminated land projects from Phase 1 desk studies through to complex, multi-phase intrusive investigations
  • Producing and reviewing Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments (DQRA) and human health / controlled waters risk assessments on technically demanding sites
  • Supporting business development and helping grow the contaminated land offering within the division
  • Working alongside an established geotech team on varied, interesting projects across central London
  • Mentoring junior staff and helping set the technical standard

What we're looking for

  • Strong contaminated land background - site investigation, risk assessment, remediation
  • Proven DQRA experience
  • MMP experience (CLAiRE Code of Practice (DoWCoP)
  • Experience managing projects and clients independently at Principal or Associate level
  • Ambition to grow with a division - technically and commercially
  • CGeol, CEnv or working towards chartership (desirable)

Why this role?

  • Genuine influence - help shape what the contaminated land practice becomes
  • Complex, technically interesting projects based in central London
  • Young, vibrant and genuinely ambitious culture
  • Independent firm - no corporate red tape
  • Established pipeline and client base from day one
