Structural Revit Technician

This is an opportunity to join a well-established independent Consultancy that has been delivering Civil, Structural and Geo-Environmental Engineering solutions for over 35 years.

With offices in Yorkshire and projects delivered nationwide, the Consultancy has developed an enviable reputation for providing practical, commercially focused engineering advice across the residential, commercial, leisure and industrial sectors. A significant proportion of its work comes from repeat business and long-standing client relationships, built on a straightforward approach, trusted technical advice and a genuine commitment to adding value throughout the design process.

The team takes pride in developing lean, efficient engineering solutions rather than simply over-designing schemes, working closely with clients, architects and contractors to overcome site constraints, improve development potential and deliver the most effective outcome possible. Supported by an in-house Civil, Structural and Geo-Environmental capability, projects benefit from a highly coordinated approach from initial concept through to construction.

As a Structural Revit Technician, you will play an important role in the delivery of structural engineering projects, supporting Engineers, Senior Engineers and Directors through the production of high-quality BIM models, technical drawings and construction information. Working across a broad range of building projects, you will be involved throughout the design process, helping to ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.

The role will involve developing and maintaining detailed Revit models, producing structural drawings, schedules and technical detailing for steel, reinforced concrete, timber, masonry and foundation structures. You will work closely with the engineering team to translate calculations, sketches and design information into coordinated BIM models and construction-ready drawings.

You will be involved in projects from initial concept through detailed design and construction, working collaboratively with architects, contractors and other consultants to resolve coordination issues, improve buildability and ensure the successful delivery of projects. The role will also include participation in model reviews, design coordination meetings and BIM workshops, helping to maintain high standards of quality and consistency across all project outputs.

Applicants should have experience using Autodesk Revit within a Structural Engineering environment and be comfortable producing structural drawings and BIM models with minimal supervision. A good understanding of structural engineering principles, detailing practices and construction methodologies is required, together with experience working within multidisciplinary design teams.

Knowledge of BIM standards, including ISO 19650 workflows and Common Data Environments, would be advantageous, whilst experience using AutoCAD alongside Revit would be beneficial.

This position would suit a Structural Revit Technician with approximately two to six years' experience who is looking to further develop their BIM and digital engineering skills within a Consultancy that values technical quality, collaboration and innovation. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to take ownership of projects, develop client-facing experience and progress towards Senior Technician or BIM Coordinator level.

In return, you will join a friendly and approachable Consultancy where technical expertise is valued and individuals are encouraged to contribute ideas and improve processes. Alongside a varied workload, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, develop your digital engineering capabilities and play an important role in the continued success of the Structural Engineering team.
